What a friend would tell you
What Fairfield is looking for
Fairfield values demonstrated interest and Jesuit mission alignment. Applications that show a pattern of service and reference specific programs (the Magis Core Curriculum, the Dolan School of Business, community-based learning) earn attention. EA applicants who visit campus and engage with admissions get an edge over passive applicants with higher stats.
What students wish they'd known
Fairfield, Connecticut is a wealthy suburb, and the campus culture reflects it: preppy, affluent, and socially conservative by Northeast standards. The social scene is small, and the beach houses function as the de facto party venue, creating an in-group/out-group dynamic. National name recognition is limited outside the tri-state area. Career placement is strong in finance and consulting for the region but lacks national reach.
Fairfield might be a fit if...
- You want a Jesuit education in Connecticut suburbs with easy Metro North access to Manhattan for internships
- You value a tight community (5,000 students) where faculty mentorship and Jesuit values of service shape daily life
- You want a business or pre-professional education wrapped in a liberal arts core, close to Fairfield County employers
