The Campus
WashU's 169-acre Danforth Campus in west St. Louis is built around Brookings Hall, a Collegiate Gothic limestone centerpiece modeled on English universities. Red granite paths connect the main quad to newer glass-and-steel additions like Brauer Hall and the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum. Forest Park (1,300 acres, larger than Central Park) borders the south edge of campus, offering free museums, a zoo, and running trails within walking distance.
