What UGA is looking for
UGA uses a single RD deadline with no early options. Georgia residency is a major advantage (the HOPE Scholarship covers tuition for qualifying in-state students). Out-of-state applicants need to stand out academically and explain a specific connection to UGA, not just 'great football.' Apply to the Honors Program if your stats qualify; it's a different experience inside the larger university. The Terry College of Business is the crown jewel.

The party culture is intense, and Athens' bar scene is accessible from freshman year. Classes in popular majors can be enormous, and advising is stretched thin. The Campus
UGA's 762-acre campus sits in Athens, Georgia, a college town famous for its live-music scene and oak-lined streets. The North Campus, with its cast-iron Arch and antebellum buildings, is the historic core. Sanford Stadium (capacity 92,746) dominates the south side. The campus blends Federal-era red brick with modern additions, and the tree-covered walkways connect to downtown Athens' restaurants, bars, and music venues within a five-minute walk.

Undergrads are supposed to walk through the iron Arch on North Campus only after they graduate, so seniors incorporate the first-ever walk-through into their commencement photos as a rite of passage.

Lone Trumpeter
